The Night

I have always liked the night.

The night, with it's silence, with it's apparent emptiness... It is full of life. Life of the night creatures, the night parties, the night emotions...

But when the light goes off, when the day darkens and the night comes... It's too beautiful, amost the same as a full-moon night.

It's paralyzing to watch the sun fade in the horizon, and letting my problems and worries fade with it, at least until tomorrow...

Hope

Hope is the last thing we should take away from our dreams.

The hope of being able to do something. The hope of becoming something. The hope of getting something.

The hope of finding a light in the cloudy horizon.

She

She's gone.

I thought I had forgotten all those feelings, but yesterday they came as a flashback. Her smile, her voice, her black hair...

We were the opposite and at the same time the best match. Her intelligence and my habilities. Her rigurosity and my crazyness.

She was the my good side, the balance in my chaos.

But she's gone, and I fear that may be forever.

Walking out of the forest

The rain slowly stops, while I reach the limit of the forest and walk out to the open.

The Sun tries to light through the clouds, but only part of it achieves it and give some rays of white light.

It's been a long journey and the end isn't near yet. I've decided to travel only with my staff and a backpack with food, drink, my magic book and my diary.

I love the sound of the rain, hitting everything with strength. I love the small impacts of the water drops. I love the smell of wet wood and wet sand.

I hope it will rain again during my journey. I can think better under the rain. Think about where I'm going... about what I'll do when I arrive... there's too much to think of...

In my childhood I used to take a picture and imagine whole stories around it. A single, static picture could make my mind fly to another world. I like that.
Now I've got hundreds of AD&D pictures, Tolkien's and many miscellaneous ones, so from time to time I'll pickup one and write about it.
Maybe just a pharagraph, maybe a small story, maybe a few words... Who knows, I'll let my imagination flow free.

Roleplaying idle time

One of the things I most like about Ultima Online is the possibilities it brings for roleplaying.
In other MMORPGs you have freedom, but only UO is capable of bringing that much freedom (visually, MUDs are even more customizable).

Thefreedom to decorate your house, the freedom to act like a nomad, thefreedom to be good or bad almost without limits (there are some, butcompared with other games it has the most open PVP),...

I usedto roleplay a lot when I were studing, reading, and such but didn'twanted to quit the game. I went to a forest and sitted down in a brokentree, or went to a town library to "study and learn", maybe went for awalk and stayed at some castle garden...

Now is almost the only thing I do. Study and study. In this case, "hidden sword mastery techniques".

I'll soon go to see myold friend Radagast the wizard, and maybe I'll mine and forge a little.I need to do something else than studying ;)
