About

First and foremost welcome to my blog. My nickname is Kartones and I've loved RPGs and boardgames since I can remember.

I discovered this amazing world thanks to Hero Quest when I was very young. I fell in love with the concept of miniatures representing heroes and monsters, dungeon crawling and fantasy. Not much later I would also discover the Warhammer 40,000 universe thanks to Space Crusade and Space Hulk. I learned to play Dungeons & Dragons 2E, Cyberpunk 2020, Vampire, Lord of the Rings and Ars Magica, often giving more importance to the plot and scenarios than the exact rules.

Although I've never been a good painter, I used to paint miniatures since I was young, but stopped at high school. Around 2008, when the 5th edition of Warhammer 40,000 was released, I decided to go back to collecting, modelling and painting. While not my main hobby, it's a nice way to relax from time to time.

Times change, friends move far and even to other countries, and RPG gaming sessions became scarce, being replaced by boardgames and computer videogames, whenever they are dungeon crawlers, strategy games or adventure-based. I also love reading both sci-fi and fantasy books, and of course comics, so you will see small reviews now and then in this blog.

I hope you enjoy my thoughts and rants.

May the die rolls be with you
