Back to work!
Thanks to my friend Morthec (who sold me a few thousand iron lingots so I can forge weapons and become almost a master backsmith), now I'm again working from time to time in front of a forge.
While I'm afraid I'll still have to mine some more to become a real master, this definitely will help a lot.
Also, yesterday I was going to pay Morthec part of the deal (He even agreed to receive the money as I earn it) at Midian, and found a young friend, Yhel.
Yhel is the son of Ilfold, one of the greatest wizards that lived in Sosaria.
Ilfold was a great friend of mine, but when I died and became a god something strange happened, and he (but not only him) became mad and evil and started to kill people.
He just dissapeared after that incident... And then his son, Yhel appeared, now being almost adult and ready to face the perils of this magic world.
We three had some fun talking of our lives and making jokes of my bold head and Morthec's vagabond-like beard.
After that, we went back to our respective tasks (mine being forging more and more).
How fast runs the time...
Today I went to buy some food to Britannia, and I found something I hadn't seen in years. It's bank was empty. Normally it was the center of activity in the city; merchants selling products, tamers showing their beautyful mounts...
And today, not a single person.
Later, I went back to Trinsic, the elvish city in which I'm now sleeping. There I found an old friend.
Morthec the barbarian, mayor of Midian, and a great adventurer.
We talked about how our lives were going, and he asked me a favor: to smelt some minerals he had, to be able to use them. Of course I agreed.
He has his minerals at Alatar's house, a beautiful two-floor building. He had a forge and (being strong as all warriors are) he dropped it in the middle of the room, and I started to smelt minerals as he was getting them out of a chest.
After finishing, and before I returned to Trinsic, I looked at the house's stable/shed. A fantastic way to use free space from the house's "L-like" design.
Yesterday I received an unexpected visit.
I was resting at Britannia's park, when someone approached me. It was an ugly orc, but he didn't attacked me.
The misterious orc, telling me a tale about an old wizard and how he killed a young explorer who dared to enter into his realm.
It was Urr! One of my old friends, the first and oldest ranger of this lands (and one of the older elves).
We spent some time talking about our adventures (or, in my case, the lack of them), and then he went to the east to "do some tasks".
One of the things I most like about Ultima Online is the possibilities it brings for roleplaying.
In other MMORPGs you have freedom, but only UO is capable of bringing that much freedom (visually, MUDs are even more customizable).
Thefreedom to decorate your house, the freedom to act like a nomad, thefreedom to be good or bad almost without limits (there are some, butcompared with other games it has the most open PVP),...
I usedto roleplay a lot when I were studing, reading, and such but didn'twanted to quit the game. I went to a forest and sitted down in a brokentree, or went to a town library to "study and learn", maybe went for awalk and stayed at some castle garden...
Now is almost the only thing I do. Study and study. In this case, "hidden sword mastery techniques".
I'll soon go to see myold friend Radagast the wizard, and maybe I'll mine and forge a little.I need to do something else than studying ;)
My study of both physical and magical arts keeps growing. I'm getting very old, but at the same time I feel more powerful.
I'll continue with my secret technique to improve my habilities with the sword even beyond the normal limits.
As I said in my first pos, the shard I play UO on is highly customized.
One of the cool features is the hability to improve skills beyond 100.% (real value of course). This can be acomplished by gaining an overlimit point, which is a 0.1 upgrade you can spend on any skill you want.
The way to gain those overlimit points is secret, but I've got a technique to obtain one more or less each 50 xps (100 play hours). Appears to be too much, but I usually leave on the game while I study, watch films, read books or any other thing.
Wise is the patient...
