Taking advantage of my christmas holidays, I'm building the dozens of miniatures I had pending (plus more that I bought as an auto-gift :)
It is curious how now all the miniatures have so many optional components that in the case of orks, I've even had to discard some excess arms to make space for other pieces.
Apart from the last ork troops, I've got a bunch of Space Marine reinforcements (both troops and a few vehicles), but the "star project" is a homemade "ork stompa asembling facility": the box contents of a pressure cooker (similar to a crater) among with all excess and unused ork trukk and ork tank pieces and some additional materials (like chinese food sticks xD).
I've finished building it (and took some photos) but I prefer to wait until I've painted it before posting it (unpainted looks even more terrible than it is).

This beauty is one of the gifts I've received this weekend as a birthday present...
A fantastic lamp and magnifier for modelling and painting!
I haven't yet tried painting with it but, despite the images (which can't fully depict the augmentation the lamp provides) it will help me a lot painting all small details of my miniatures.
Apart from providing a superb illumination and the zoom, it can be easily moved in any direction. Really cool!

I must admit I'm sometimes like Peter Pan... I feel like a grown-up child, and while I've lost a great part of my childhood imagination (with which I could take a single Magic card and imagine stories for hours...), some things still prevail, like collecting some miniatures I find cool to decorate my book shelves.
As today I'm still "on vacations mode" and lazy to think of anything productive, I've uploaded some photos of my small collection and I will show them here (among with a few interesting extras not-related to the photos...):
An orc shaman guarding some articles and Warhammer 40.000k codex
Predator & Alien guarding some books...
An old T-800 Terminator toy, next to the Sandman comics collection
The executioner from Resident Evil 5. One of the latest additions, and the "worst and scarier one" in my girlfriend's oppinion xD
A zombie from Resident Evil 2
A Knight deflecting some arrows
Kratos defending some game programming books
Snake had to be in my collection
A Gears of War locust
Mister X, my favourite RE boss
And a Tyrant, from RE too
A wow Warlock...
... And a priest guarding some of my Forgotten Realms books
Another zombie, holding a brain
And the U.S.S. Enterprise in front of my complete Star Trek DVD collection (all seasons of all ST sagas + all movies)
Extra #1: Ruleset, FAQ, and lots of unit rules for Warhammer 40.000 Epic. Since the game itself is discontinued, they are a very valuable asset.
Extra #2: Mini codex for the Genestealer Cults (now updated for the 5th edition of Warhammer 40k). Since I have a few genestealers (most of them from Space Hulk, but counting the unpainted, enough for a small side-force or quick battle.
Extra #3: The Soundtrack of Warhammer 40.000 Dawn of War II is freely available for download!

It came out, and one week after, I've finished assembling it.
The size of this machine is really big (taller than all my building ruins except one), and has so many pieces that at first is overwhelming. I highly recommend you to check first the GW step-by-step guide to see what every piece is for.
I haven't glued some of the pieces to properly paint it without problems of not being able to reach some zones, but here it is a GW gallery of some painted (and modded) stompas that shows how fantastic this looks once finished.
Look at the comparison between a space marine Terminator and the stompa.
Any miniature looks tiny besides him
Rear-view. It is incredibly detailed everywhere...
Close view of the two gretchin mechanics arguing.
Close view of the head with the custom eyes I've added to the face (two ork landmines).
The rest of the assembled but unglued pieces.
The big metal skull of the front has been modded. Bigger eyes, and smaller teeth.
Look at the size of the weapons compared with a space marine Predator Tank!
Size comparison between Epic equivalent miniatures.
Having a stompa is not just a great and powerful adition for my ork army, it is too a childhood dream becoming true: Having a real ork stompa miniauture was my dream when I was collecting Epic miniatures and reading the White Dwarf magazines...

We all know that the world is full of crazy people. But this is really madness. A full Warhammer 40.000 scale home-made Imperator Titan!!!
The size of this machine is terrible xD
