Third roleplaying session: WoW time!

We've just had our third RPG session, and for this time we changed to more classic sowrds & monsters adventures, World of Warcraft RPG (2nd Edition). Based on d20 and Open Gaming License ruleset, it is simple to play yet fun and themed under Warcraft's universe.

We created our characters, assigned our level 1 attributes, feats and skills, and played a small, introductory quest of killing a nigromant which was hiding near Ironforge mountains.

I'm using a (now level 2) Dwarf Paladin (named Segis) which wears a mighty axe that slices through enemies as if they were paper (I've killed a boar, skeletons, orcs and an evil dwarf so far).

We are a party of four (me, a human warrior, a human arcanist and a night elf druid), and right now it is hard to survive (until levels 3-5 you don't get any good spell, hitpoints are low and you miss frecuently your attacks), but we had some fun playing and the mages did some nice tricks (like blinding opponents with light spells when they run out of magic missiles).

As I said, the game is fun. Not too complex, but having a pair of rulebooks (we had one paper rulebook and one laptop with the PDF version) comes handy at least until you get the basics of dice rolls and game mechanics. I like the Warcraft theme, and being a d20 game, we can easily add creatures and monsters to the game (like we did with a summoned wolf).

I'm looking forward for our next session (and I'm dying to play WoW for some hours!).

List of World of Warcraft Easter Eggs

I cannot remember when, but somewhere in the past I found this two interesting links to (a lot of) WoW's easter eggs and jokes.

BTW: I'm again playing WoW sometimes... I'm almost level 53 and I hope to level sooner after the latest patches and the XP boost.

WoW Journal Entry #20071226

It's christmas in Azeroth again! I went to Ironforge to see the xmas tree and the fat bearded known by everyone ;)

There, a dwarf from the Leage of the Explorers approached me and asked me some favors.

I went deep into the forests of Feralas.

And even underground (but there were no enemies, curious).

Now I've come back to Tanaris and I'm on route to Un'Goro crater, where I've got more tasks (at the moment "easy" ones, just kill and kill monsters).

Not much else to add... some folks at the inn were speaking about being easier to improve your skills since few weeks... Maybe our gods want us to be more powerful? I'll have to try...

Hallow's End at WoW

Until the 31th of october, is taking place Hallow's End!

I've yet to see what events can I acomplish, but the locals speak of a headless horseman wandering somewhere and starting fires, and the childs and orphans of Stormwind are eager to pick up some trick or treat bags with surprises, so I will gather some for them surely.

WoW Journal Entry #20071011

It's been a long time, I know. But one gets old, and needs to get fit again.

I've retaken "my duties" of killing monsters, but this week is being held the Brewfest!!!

Outside the major cities, camps are stablished with tons and tons of free beer, events and mini-quests to earn prize tickets.

I went to the outside of Ironforge to see the event.

There were lots of drunken people :) Some even say that only being drunk you can catch some magical rabbits :O

I've learned to ride rams, and some days I've helped the organizers by using a ram to bring more beer kegs to the campment.

And of course, I've drinked lots of beer!

Note: In real life I've had a very busy perior... I'm still playing, but some days I need to play some more "simple" games, like an FPS. Anyway I'll try to post more frecuently again.
